Heat Wrap

Right guys i just bought some heat wrap as i have a little issue, i think this should work but was wanting opinions first i have a zisco ct9 mani with ext gate pipe now i have just fitted a civic rad to the gt and i've managed to get it all in but the bottom rad pipe is resting on the ext gate pipe and my thinking is putting on the heat wrap will stop the rad hose from melting what yous think ?
