ad13
Hi guys, I've had an oil leak for the past few weeks on my EP91 Starlet Sportif and finally got round to looking at it today. It looks as if the sump has corroded right through, when we dried it and ran it it started to get a bit wet again. I find this a bit strange as it appears to be made of steel. Has anyone else come across this?My local scrappy doesn't have any Starlet parts in stock, and he said that even if he did he'd be hazard to take the sump from an engine as he'd rather sell the whole block.Does anyone know the part number for this?Cheers
riko666
There's a few cars being broken chap, have a search and you might find a sump - I sold one not long ago.A bit strange to have the sump corrode ALL the way through though! That's a lot of steel to eat through, and considering its a hydraulic containment reservoir, its very purpose is to hold fluids...a bit strange that yours has corroded in such a way! Do they salt your streets with sulphuric acid crystals?
