Russleh
if ya didnt have a top mount would be easier to tell lol but it may be coming from the other breather. thats what was happening to me except i had a catch can instead of a breather filter so it just kept filling that with oil. sorry to say that in my case is was a knackered piston ring and ringland. im not being one of them people that tells ya that jumps straight to the worst thing , just saying thats what it was on mine

Blitz
i have a catch can but thats not filling up :/ no loss of performance boost or oil pressure
Russleh
well you will have your catch can connected up right tho. mine was basically acting as a breather and lots of oil comin out of there. i even had a compression test on mine and it showed slightly low on 1 but that was it and when i took out the piston it was in bits. theres pics in my build thread somewhere. Blitz
surely if the piston was caput there would be a loss of performance ????
Russleh
i think there would have been some if it was dynoes but i couldnt tell with mine mate. have your car running and open the oil filler cap and put your hand over it. it it gets slightly spotted then i think thats normal if it goes all over your t shirt and covers your hand and gets on your wing then ya have a problem but i doubt thats an accurate test
Blitz
haha haha will try that acurate test then mate it boggles me i would have thought it would have lost oil pressure or boost or something cause its part of the car NOT functioning how it shouldoh well if its shit up forged engine and TD0 here we come
Russleh
yeh mate i thought the same. cars are weird sometimes. like even tho my piston ring was in lots of little bits and the ringland was seperate from the piston theres no damage to the bores on the block. even a mechanic i asked doubted it was the rings
scot-ish
take the dipstick out, see if it feels like there is a pressure coming out, that will tell you if your rings are passing, and its pressurising the crankcase. is your dump v/v exit clean, and not covered in oil?how is your catch can setup? should be via the pcv, and the breather pipe from the original recirc valve.i would think your catch can is plummed in wrong, and this is your problem

Russleh
haha that it ? nice one mate. another reason to get rid of the top mount. easier to see stuff like that glad it wasnt the expensive problem you thought it was
Blitz
mate did i feel a burk was like nooooo piston ringland blah blah blah started it up opened bonnet let it run cleaned oil off had a tea went back to it was like oh splatters of oil again lookes around then the nut next to the filler cap i was like looking closer and saw it spitting oil, i mean absolutly miniscule amounts but was like right got socket out and it was loose as a whores hole tightened it up checked others and cleaned oil off again went and booted it to like 5-6 bar pressure and all fine glad it was that and not a piston thank god cheers for all your help on the matter mate (Y)
