  1. Yeh I will do. I just meant turn the boost up lol I live in Burntisland now so it's slightly better ha.
  2. Sweet can I buy it back at the same price now lol. Looking good though. Mate of mine just bought a forged v and I'm fighting off the starlet bug at the moment haha.
  3. I bet I can sort it. I'll need to test drive it another 85 times though. Overnight. Least there's plenty technical info to read through on here lol. If I end up with the starlet bug again it's 100%your fault
  4. Saw you getting a bit stick on Corolla club about this lol Nice motor though. My misses has recently decided she would like a type r and we're looking at these as well. You also know if you decided to sell it wouldn't be worth 17p and a snickers like a corolla lol
  5. Gaskets are just standard ones for the starlet. Be cheap from Toyota if a trader on here cant hook you up. Also as above I used 2 big washers on the throttle cable. You'll know what we mean when you look at the cable mounting point and compare the 2
  6. New inlet Mani gasket and tb gasket. Shouldn't need to remove any pipes from the tb but mark them if you do as it's easy to get muddled up. Finally there's a bolt onto a bracket from the underside of the standard inlet. Hard to see. Just have a good look at all the vac pipes on the standard Mani first and your sorted .
  7. Looking good so far man. Have a look on youtube as I remember some videos of a guy doing a complete rebuild on a 4efte. Helped me out alot. Bit of a language barrier in parts but it was a great guide. If I had a better phone id link you.
  8. Cheers . It was the meguires kit that came with the stubborn defects removal kit . Got it from Halfords
  9. Well its to go to the garage down the road for 4 tyres soon soo Il get them to check the codes . The eml light is on but that's duebto the cat not being there until last week. I want to clean the ocv as well . Thinks that's the right thing I've had a bit forgetful moment but ye i think its the ocv valve. Could be a MAF issue as I replaced the air filter yesterday and I was moving stuff about and it was being quite awkward today. I'm going to do the lift bolts soon too . What do you mean about 1/4 in for every turn ? I'm nervous about things snapping these days . Even considering
  10. I'm lacking a bit in forum activity these days I didn't even notice all these comments lol but I ha some updates . First one is my coilovers finally arrived . Upon removal of the old shocks and springs I found out the reason it was SOOO bad Poor quality because of the camera lens being covered in dust lol Next up I developed a random grinding from the brakes . Sticky calliper slider was the culprit and this thing was f*****g stuck lol And fixed . Notice no anti roll bar connected . I'll get to that Next the headlights were badly faded so set to fixing that with a headlight re
  11. Lol socks got it in one. Disconnected it when he post his comment and its not gone off since. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of coilovers today. Cars Just undrivable on anything but a perfect road.
  12. Good advice. I'll give that a check in a minute . Cheers . Was pleasantly surprised with insurance costs as well . Yeh for the money I was chuffed with it. Even has a decent service history so I know that at least a couple of owners ago it was taken care of . Wheels are a bit grubby as well having been painted over with a rattle can but from a distance they will do for now
  13. Lol since having a kid I've had nothing close to any spec I wanted . Been driving bangers for years haha
  14. Finally back in a Toyota . Not a starlet though . Signed up to Corolla forums but find them a bit lacking in activity compared to here . Long story short I needed a car quick and this came up for £800 so I threw caution to the wind and bought it even though I do a lot of miles for work. Has a few little rough areas like paint peeling on the back bumper but otherwise bodywork is good . The air con has decided to stop working since I went on holiday for a month . The alarm keeps going off since the other day and I suspect the battery needs replaced but it looks like a recent battery in it
  15. Good to see the cars still around . new turbo looks fresh as well .
  16. It's great when you can finally clean the car lol . great looking sr ☺
  17. Looks good so far. Really like it sittin on those wheels .
  18. Just don't let someone try tow it away without any or some poor wheelie bin will get mowed down by a wheel lol
  19. I think I remember that the throttle cable securing point is different. Some big washers should do the trick. I could be wrong but I remember doing something similar.
  20. I had to do this before. Nightmare lol . I ended up taking the big crossbar right out I think. Not sure if it was because I had to or I just looked and thought I had to . sure once that was out and the pipes were disconnected on the engine side it wasn't too bad. Sure you have to split a couple of parts of the heating system to get at it. Sorry for the rubbish help but there's wasn't anything overly complicated so just keep taking things apart lol.
  21. Merry Xmas people. Already forgot to take the turkey out the freezer lol
  22. All these tidy cars I keep seeing are making me have ep withdrawals lol . Also for just a split second when I looked at the pic of you panhard rod and timing cover I thought interesting choice to have cushions in your back seats then I realised its the couch haha
