Hey guys,

Can anyone recommend me a decent torque wrench without spending big bucks? I just need something half decent to get me started with.

Cheers,

snap on will last you forever.......but they do cost quite a bit. but you pay for quality with these things

to be honest mate the halfords professional tool range are really good plus they come with a lifetime guarantee i believe so if it ever breaks they will relpace it free of charge. make sure it says professional though as the normal halfords tool range dont have these guarantees lol

Norbar are good! check them out, not too expensive but not cheap either. reputable brand.

i have herd good things about the halfords professional torque wrench, accuracy is good, which makes it good value for money.

Teng make a good torque wrench with good length, making higher range settings easier. Also i hear good things concerning Halfords Professional tools although cant say first hand but with trade prices and as Steve says lifetime guarantee on prof. I maybe down there sometime

One quick bump before I buy one this week. I borrowed an electrical Snap On when I build my engine, I don't want to borrow it again so I'll be buying one this week.

The halfords sound good mate i have a snap on for low torques for engine building which ranges from 5nm upwards, and just use a clarke torque wrench for torquing up wheels from machine mart.
