Dan Evans
I've got no compression in the two left hand cylinders (cambelt side), no water loss, no banging or anything, i take it its the headgasket thats gone between the cylinders???
ToyotaTech15
Its more than likely head gasket,The chances of two sets of rings or two wrongly seated/sealing valves on two cylinders are pretty slim. Why has it gone so soon? anything obvious that could have caused it?Gary
Dan Evans
no idea mate, head was skimmed before being put back together same as the block, everything tourqued down correctly etc..i am running 1.1 bar on a CT9 on standard headgasket but i was told it could handle 1.2 with no problems???im going to get a 1.4-1.9mm Athena one now instead with ARP bolts. ToyotaTech15
Personally i would have run standard boost until it was all run it, and as you were that far down on the build i would have used an uprated head gasket and head bolts. It could have been alot worse mate, thats the way i would look at it.Gary
Dan Evans
only reason i didnt use uprated bolts and gaskets was due to me swapping the heads later on with a ported and polished one.il rip the head off tomorrow and make sure thats it, if so il get it repaired with ARP bolts and uprated headgasket and see how i get on
ToyotaTech15
Ok fair enough,Good luck and hope that it can be back on the road in no time .Gary
BenV
when you fit the new arp head bolts torque them all up, put the engine through one head cycle and then lossen them off and re tourqe them this will stop the head from lifting and settle the studs nicley ben
