Hdi Fmic Loss Of Boost

Recommended Posts

This weekend i fitted my FMIC and i had a feeling i would loose boost anyway with replacing the tiny TMIC with the much bigger FMIC.

With the top mount it was boosting to around 11-12PSI (around 0.8bar) and with the feeling of loosing boost i thought i would do one full rotation on the HKS actuator to turn it up a little to compensate, Now correct me if im wrong, i undid the circlip on the actuator, pull it off the turbo lever thing (not sure what its called) loosen the 10mm nut and turned the end of the actuator anti-clockwise 360 degrees,<< is this correct to increase boost????

If the above is correct then why am i only boosting to 9PSI max, it shoots round to 6-7PSI and creeps to 9PSI and thats all, i have gone around all the intercooler piping and all seems to be tight with no signs of leaks at all.

Now i do have a cracked de-cat downpipe, would this effect my boost at all??

Any help would be much appreciated lads, Cheers, Zac

Right, cheers lads, hopefully got a blitz de-cat lined up so that will be sorted and if i do a full 360degree turn clockwise on the actuator to put it back to what it was, i should be boosting around the 12psi mark, anything less i have leaks in the pipework :(

Thanks alot for the help lads, Zac
