rear diff ratios

are the auto and manual diff ratios the same?

I've got an auto im wanting to convert to manual.

any help would be appreciated.

Yep both 2.277:1

Wouldn't matter too much if they weren't, viscous coupling takes up the difference

Nah sorry don't have a spare. Probably better to get one from yahoo japan as I would probably keep the spare box, there relatively rare here too.

Out of interest has anyone opened up the rear diff and had a look at the head? Just wondering what the size of the crownwheel/ring gear is, and whether some sort of lsd can be put in.

My guess is a 5.6" similar to the X code diffs in the KP60

there has been heaps of setbacks with this thing but I've just got 2 gearboxes and a whole el45 4wd with factory 5e as spare. also manual.
