lights not working. UPDATE 17/11/2010

hey folks,

i noticed on the way home people were flashing me to turn my lights on. Front ones were, back ones werent.

Also, all the lights inside the car (dials, heating) dont work, internal light on roof does, fuel light, doors open light etc.

The brake lights work, but the lights dont work despite me putting them on, the bulbs are fine as ive checked them in the hazard lights connection as the work.

Help, because i cant drive at night

Fuse.

The tail and dash lights are all on the same fuse. 10a I believe.

Fuses, there Are some under the steering toward the bottom left and some under the bonnet. Go and check your fuses if you haven't done so.

mate i hade the same problem its a fuse in the fuse box under the steering .....if i can remember correctly its the one on the right row right at the top or bottom hope it helps

how do i get to the fuses under the steering wheel?

I have replaced the fuses under the bonnet. no joy.

Are the tail lights fuses located under the steering wheel?

Found it!

However, fuse replaced, then its blowing a fuse again.

Ideas?

There must be a short somewere, take it you have a boost gauge or something wired in so check all aftermarket wiring, my mates was the same.

Check if you have wrong light bulbs installed in the back.

Check if the 2 contact light or fitted where they need to be and the single contact lights fitted where they need to be.

Had the same problem but mine, when i step on the brakes i have a whole light show in my dash and on my spotlights and when i checked it was a faulty lightbulb that was installed incorrectly in my backlights.

had same prob with my crx and was nightmare turned out it was the wire for the rear fog light which had shorted.

just buy a load of fuses and work your way around every light on the car checking wires/bulbs/connections

I know this is an old post but i didnt want to start a new one,

Ive just fitted a fcd to a friends gt and now have the same problem, ive checked my wiring and solder joints but cant see anthing touching, when i fit a new fuse it doesnt blow straight away, its ok for 5mins then blows any ideas?

He has removed the rear wiper last night but i can see how that has affected it, he hasnt cut any wires just unplugged them

No worries people, all sorted, found the boost gauge had been wired in with no tape around the conections + sparky = no more fuse
