piston ring question

Hi guys, i'm in the middle of rebuilding my v engine and need to ask a silly question... i'm putting the piston rings onto the pistons (standard pistons and rings) and i have 3 different rings. oil ring obviously goes in the bottom groove on the piston but then i have ring 1 and ring 2.

would i be correct in thinking the number 1 ring sits in the top groove and number 2 in the middle?

just thought i'd better confirm before i make an arse of it lol
