If you are proposing to running a 5E bottom end I'd at least go with the 5EFHE pistons to be on the safe side.

They are at least an upgrade over the stock 5EFE rods which are as thin as the 4EFE ones.

If not going forged then the 5EFHE rods with 4EFTE pistons are the weapon of choice.

I have a set of 5EFHE rods and pistons (selling together) spare if you are interested. and they are not too easy to find.

If you were going to use the FHE pistons all you would need is new piston rings but they are higher compression.

However the 4EFTE pistons (lower compression) would be ideal as you are going to be boosting.
