tommykite
I have been looking at getting the Gizzmo MS2 boost controller and they say it has a fuel cut remover. Anyone been useing this fuction? see:Gizzmo MS2 boost controller The Complete Turbo Management Solution Fully configurable turbo timerActive over boost controlReal time boost gaugeAdjustable up to 50lb (3.5bar)64mhz RISC Processor TechnologyOpen or Closed loop boost controlSuits Internal and External Wastegates Gizzmoâ??s MS2 shares and builds on the proven precision boost control strategy of the MSIBC whilst also sporting a fully configurable turbo timer and boost cut remover (note 1). Our reasoning behind the addition of the turbo timer is that the cool off period of a turbo is directly proportional to the heat of the turbo which is generated by the amount of work that your turbo does. The MS2 knows exactly how much work your turbo has been doing so it seems ideal that it too would be in control of the cool off period. The MS2 also has a boost solenoid supervisor so if for any reason your boost control solenoid malfunctions the MS2 will warn you of this immediately. The MS2â??s integrated boost cut remover (note1) will help you to bypass the factory boost cut to fully utilise your MSâ??s features. Driving all these features is the MS2â??s processor which is capable of computing almost one billion calculations per minute so that you can rest easy knowing that the Gizzmo MS2 really is your complete turbo management solution. Note1: Please note that the MS-2 will work with ECUs that require the voltage clamping between 2 and 6.5V, which suits a wide variety of cars, including Mazdaâ??s, Toyotaâ??s and Subaruâ??s. Asad
by the time people need a boost controller, they`ve invested in aftermarket management by means of a P+P or emanage = no point in fuel cutsomeone on here said these werent all that or were they version 1? Sanchez
As Asad said, no point.I have one, is easy to change boost settings etc, i didnt set it up though, Its says 'real time boost gauge', mine is miles out, my car was tuned for 1.5 bar which the boost gauge reads perfect and the guys who set it up said it was 1.5bar, but my gizzmo reads 1.67 bar lol just a little out
Glanza_cl
Personally i would advice a ebc as one of along with others a very good first mod. dont know why people are saying there a waste. an 'uprated' actuator alone arnt all that. every turbo car i'v had has had an ebc installed for better boost control over the actuator.but would i get a ebc with built in boost cut? probably not as boost cut is there for a reason... if you wanna by pass factory pre-sets i would look at an ecu
tommykite
Fuel cut is at 12psi and that's what I want to run for the moment. I will have all the supporting mods that should make more boost safe other than a piggy back or after market ECU. Why is this such a bad idea ? Seems like it could be a good stop gap ?? experience rather than opinion would be great.Cheers Tom
Raz
in my opinion it is safe to run 2.0 bar on a standard engine... People with experience tell me a better way to do it. I hope you see the difference now.
Glanza_cl
I ran 170bhp under fuel cut... not everyones needs fuel cut defenders and piggy back ecu's. From 'experience' and EBC is a good move, but i would spend my money on a better specific ebc rather then getting ones with built in fuel cut properties. With a good EBC the boost shouldn't creep or move over what you set it at so setting it up at around 0.85bar it should be spot on. I ran a HKS EVC6 and that was shit hot! never seen such a stable boost curve.thats my experience bud
tommykite
I'll check out he EVC6 now..Cheers for that bloody love this forum Tom :-)I ran 170bhp under fuel cut... not everyones needs fuel cut defenders and piggy back ecu's.
