Sparky Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Can anyone tell from these pics which oil pump I need whether it be the one with the seal on the pump or the seal on the block? Thanks Quote
Morph Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I'd say seal on the pump looking at that dude I could be wrong tho. Quote
Russleh Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 is that the old seal stuck to the block ? im sure when i did mine one side was smooth. Quote

Sparky Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 is that the old seal stuck to the block ? im sure when i did mine one side was smooth. You sure? Or is that the front crankshaft oil seal?Im guessing I need the one with the seal on pump, but need to be sure Quote
Sparky Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Thats what I was thinking, cheers Stevey Quote
Steve GT Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 No worries matey anything to get the GT build sped up Quote
Russleh Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 i could be completely wrong but i always thought the one that was sometimes on the pump and sometimes on the block was the little o ring that goes round the actual pumping part. the crank seal that you have pointed out is that not always on the pump ? Quote
CLARKYTRD Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 All of the above is complete nonsense...The seal highlighted above is the INNER CRANK SEAL....The OIL PUMP you need is the one with THE SEAL ON THE BLOCK.You can clearly see the seal on the block.... I just received the exact same oil pump from tm developments. Quote
Russleh Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 been to the shed and took some pictures. the crank seal is not the one that is different. just as id hoped the one in my shed is opposite to urs. me seal is in the block and my oil pump is smooth with no groove yet still crankseal is on the pump. the one that is different is the little thin o ring. however in this case it wouldnt have mattered as your conclusion was the right one although for the wrong reason lol with seal inwith seal removed hope that clears things up Quote
Sparky Posted January 24, 2011 Author Posted January 24, 2011 Ahhhh I can see now I was looking at the wrong part I was looking at the bottom pulley bit, anyways thanks for clearing that up Russ Quote
