miib14
I've had the worst week...as all you know my car went for a conversion in december, well i got it back last week with a £1200 bill.... so i thought one off payment and just trouble free for awhile... the first to happen as soon as it left the place was that it would not boost past 0.3 bar on high boost.... turbo 1 f**ked... had another spare one lying about and swapped that over, but that one didnt boost past 0.1bar turbo 2 f**ked...then whilst driving about on 0.1 bar boost, notice that the radiator is forcing water into overflow on boost.... but luckily that sorted itself out yday.. so i thought YAY... no more problems.. just get a turbo of one of you guys and happy days....then as im driving home, here a rattling noise from bottom of engine... just really annoyed.. left with next to no money and no car... feel like cutting my losses and selling bits of car? somebody help, dont want to break, but may not have a chance...if anyones got a spare cheap working engine please let me know...07595631691 as im going to be out and about with bro looking...ishaq
Russleh
i feel your pain dude. complete shite. bottom end is like the worst thing to go on a car. especially when uv only just got it finished as others have said in the other threads tho id definatly go with getting one rebuilt urself as apposed to buying another full engine. Although its slightly more expensive id say its definatly worth it dude as i cant even count how many people have bought a full engine for it to break on them. To be fair noone selling an engine is gonna say this engine hasnt been looked after and runs funny would u like to buy it. I know your finacially fucked to rebuild it but otherwise is almost certainly gonna be a waste of money. ill make a little list of parts ul need to do it :possible crank = £100 decent condition rods ( easier with pistons attatched) = £50 quid ish piston rings = £90thrust washers =£ unsure main bearings = £ 60ish rod bearings = £60ish headbolts = £60 ish headgasket£unsure oil pump ( defo worth doing as that could have been the reason for the spun bearing) - £90 its alot of money but unless u can find someone that can definatly give u a good engine is say its the best option i hope that all those prices doesnt demoralise u . there all from my memory from what I've paid for stuff so might be more or less best of luck with this dude as it was going in a good direction . would be a shame to be forced into giving up.
