how to for a newb

Recommended Posts

anyway, hes the thing:

I have cut and fitted the 6x9s into the parcel shelf....done

Run wires from ront to back...done

Hide wires....done

Connect wires to 6x9s...done

now i just have the 4 wires sitting in my front drivers footwell....where do i go from here?

im guessing, correct me if im wrong: 1)i need to remove the headunit 2)run the wire up through/ into where the headunit sits 3) find the 4 wires that goto the rear?

if you guys could step by step it that would be great..

Cheers Tom

1) Headunit out.

2) Find the speaker wires that go in to the block. (Purple? Green? Grey?)

3) Snip the wire, leaving a healthy amount for you to connect on your new speakers.

Shit, the Starlet only has front speakers, so the block will only have them wires going in to it i think....

I fitted them to my dads old n/a, but my brother did the wiring bit.

{EDIT}

My brother said it has the space for rear speakers in the block, so just cut the wires and use wire connectors to connect the new speakers.

Good luck, easy job.

streetracers right. alternatively try to identify the wires on the stereo loom, not the car loom, and connect them from there. be sure the connectors cant touch metal to metal (use insulated connectors or soulder and heatshrink them)together otherwise the speakers wont work at all.
