ady2k5
Hello allFor the past couple of years i've been letting my house out and had it insured through Sheila's Wheels on a Landlord policy. However i received a letter today stating that they will no longer be able to insure me and i have to go with someone else. I then decided to give them a ring and they told me that they have never offered Landlord home insurance, which absolutely confused me as i've been insured with them on this policy for the past couple of years and have the paperwork to prove it. I mentioned this to them and once again they said they've never offered it.If this is the case, then i'm wanting to get my cash back for the past couple of years which is around £450 in total. Reason for this being that even though i've paid this the policy for the past couple of years in reality has been invalid and therefore if i had to make a claim they would just say sorry but we don't ever offer landlord insurance and therefore unable to do anything and this was an error on the system. If anyone has any advice or legal info they could offer please let me know as i'm going to get back in touch with them. Many thanks
james@cjperformance
They have to refund you in full then dude, if they say that they have never offered such a service then you have to ask the question of what the fuck have you been paying for.escalate it and get a manager to deal with it as some dogs body on the other end of the phone may not have a clue.if you get no joy tell them you will be instructing a solicitor to get a reimbursment of your money through a small claims court and see what they do.before you end up filing for small claims you will need to get a copy of their complaints procedure and foolow that before you can take any more action. you may even find that if they are not honouring your insurance policy that it might well be that they have broken the law, could be something along the lines of recieving money by deception, but i would have to double check on that.theres a starting point anyway
string
its a tough one. obv if there saying it was an error on the sytem you'd want the money back. but... they'll probably say they would of honoured there mistake if you had to claim. now it has been noticed there sayin they can't insure to cover themselves. think its gotta be put down to experience and thats it mate. i suppose you could claim sayin that you werre mis sold insurance. plus you have the paperwork. so you just need it in writing that they have never done it. is your insurance as landlord and not normal house insurance.
