200bhp starlet Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 its the deisel mind lewis my bad lol i dont know then surely cant be that hard to find ?? Quote
Raz Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 Found it, one earth goes to the body, and one earth goes straight to the gearbox from the battery. It seems fine, just alittle burnt and corroded. I started the car up, after about minute and half it flickered the lights again, you can feel its not running correctly after the lights comeon. the rpm drops and everything slows down. which shows the battery is not being charged. But why is this intermittent? It should allways be on or off. But it randomly comes on or goes off. Also, why does the fuel filter light comeone at the same time as the battery light comes on?Just don't understand what the hell is going on? Quote
BAZ2CRAZY Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 That title took me ages to figure out.I kept on getting, where on earth is the gearbox. but reading it as its written. tripped me out man. Mitch Quote
Raz Posted May 24, 2011 Author Posted May 24, 2011 How do i test for that?Start car, remove positive terminal from battery, if car dies then shit alternator, if not alternator is good? Quote
yaristurbo Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 Multimeter across battery, should be 13volt or above. Is not stick the positive testing lead on the poistive terminal, if u hav charging voltage there then knackered wire, if not knackered alternator. As it is intermittent do the test a few times or try to catch it when it's faulting Quote
