do i need a afr if running 170-180bhp ?

basically im going to be getting a fuel cut defender soon so i can run at 1 bar of boost do i need a air and fuel regulator such as apexi safc or are they for more 200bhp plus. cheers

you will need a RRFPR (rising rate fuel pressure regulator) at a minimum. An Apexi SAFC would help tune better fuelling but is upto you.

Thanks that was helpful. Im not sure wat fuel cut defender to get manual or electric and turbosmart or hks also are the hks afr any good as they go up in ones is that accurate enough many thanks

HKS or Jam will be your best bet.

Is it true though that the hks one adjust all the settings before fuel cut and the turbosmart one only does it after fuel cut

The HKS does effect the whole range but with a RRFPR is allot easier to get reasonable fuelling as you simply up the rail pressure to compensate for the leaning out of fuel. I havnt used a Turbosmart FCD but its a clamp type FCD like Jam so will wait till it reads a certain voltage then hold it... The advantage with that is if you run a SAFC the fuelling is correct upto the point of clamping so all you have to do is adjust the fuelling from 0.8bar upto whatever boost you run (i.e. 1bar)

they all have the same end result and you will never have a super smooth accurate map without a ecu but they do work.
