the other day my fan stopped working noticed my car temp was just off the red does this weaken the head gasket? cars all fine still just wanted some advice thanks

i panic a lot yeah james at cj has been excellent and is ordering me one up tomorow people have been telling me it weakens the head gasket though

it didnt even go into the red it was jut off it then i turned it off opened the bonnet and there was the overheated smell let it cool down and its been fine its an expensive job isnt it to change the head gasket?

Wouldnt worry about it then, only if in the red for a long period of time should you worry, the smell is just the coolant starting to boil. Might be worth changing the coolant as it will have lost its properties if overheated. And wouldnt know lol, I do all work myself.

ben just learn to do things :) it will save u so much in garage bills

theres guides on how to do it its all a bolt off bolt on job just need to torque it properly and in the correct order :)

Just out of curiousity, is it definitely the fan not working? Zoe's gt acted up a while back, ended up being a stuck thermostat, make sure the temp sender is working aswell, start the car and remove the plug, if the fan kicks in, its working.
