air filter cleaning

servicing car soon and wanted to know best way to clean a k and n style air filter ( not panel).

ive heard petrol is a good cleaner?

any advice would be grateful

Get the filter cleaning kit for ~£10 off ebay

go for the aerosol one not the bottle oil one, can easily get too much oil on with the bottle

Just run some petrol from the inside and it should be ok

k+n filters are designed and need to be "wet" for them to work at their best....its all fair and well cleaning it with petrol (as if it wasnt already expensive lol) but you'll need to re-oil it with the correct oil
