Idrees
Rare as rocking horse shit tbh. Try all the breakers yards you can find, also drop a PM to GTnomez, he MAY still have his spare one if you're lucky.
Taggy
I didnt know the bottom end had gone on your car, when did that happen? Did it go after they had put it all back together at tuning developments?
Burny
Thanks Iddy just PM'd him. No Craig it went about 4 months ago thats why i decided to forge it, turned out it had 5EFE pistons in there lol its been off the road ages now and now this has happened, there still waiting for the high lift cams so it couldnt have progressed much further yet anyway so i have a few days to find one or looks like im going to Toyota
Taggy
There was a guy selling one on ebay for £230 near reading i think, it didnt have a head so I didnt bother with it, but it was still for sale when i checked last. It was an ebay listing that ended with no bids, give him a msgAs you only need the crank and he hasnt sold it see if he can do a deal:)http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130612944810?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Burny
Thanks Craig your a life saver, didnt see this when i looked on there, gonna drop him a PM now, offer him £150 for the crank, he can still sell the block then if he wanted
Idrees
Incase that fails, here's another option: Instead of paying almost £600 for a crank, just offer this seller £400 for the car, replace the engine with a 4E-FE then sell the car on?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-TOYOTA-PASEO-ST-BLUE-/120846304904?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item1c23004688

Burny
That ones no good it has been reground and Mike doesnt now how far it has been ground down :/
grum-glanza
i remember when i was building my car after the first 5e went kaboom i was planing on using my old crank from that engine but the person building the car sed to me that the crank is matched to the block that if you use a different 1 it might not match up and run bearings just something to thing about i dont think you want another engine gone i dont no how true this is tho but that was what i was told
Burny
I think thats why they machine it to suit mate and use different size bearings etc, im no expert either mind lol pretty sure you can use different cranks though.
Idrees
That ones no good it has been reground and Mike doesnt now how far it has been ground down :/I'm sure it says it's supplied with bearings, so why would you need to know how much it's been reground? Or you could ask the seller how much it has been ground.i remember when i was building my car after the first 5e went kaboom i was planing on using my old crank from that engine but the person building the car sed to me that the crank is matched to the block that if you use a different 1 it might not match up and run bearings just something to thing about i dont think you want another engine gone i dont no how true this is tho but that was what i was toldAnother crank will work fine, just as long it has the bearings to suit if it's been ground. If it hasn't been ground then you can fit the crank with OEM bearings and it will work fine. You could always double check with the machine shop if in doubt.
Burny
I spoke to Mike and he said it was up to me but he would rather me buy a used crank so that he can use his machine shop to machine it so he knows it is spot on, im not an expert at stuff like this so dont really no :/
Idrees
That makes sense.
