Loss of spaces/paragraphs/breaks in "tag" editing mode

I used to do most of my editing in tag mode as I use a lot of formatting, but now when I go back to normal / wysiwyg mode I've lost all my spaces and the text is one huge paragraph lump!

Is there a way round this?
