Hi,

im having on going problems for a while now with my GT smoking on idle if i have either booted it for a while or sometimes when im driving normally. It smells of oil and the smoke is white. No smoke on boost or over run. Its an intermitent problem but this last 2 weeks it has been doing it quite alot and starting to get a little concerned :/

I think it can be one of two things;

Oil stem seals or Turbo seals.

Im running a standard CT9 turbo with side exit exhaust so i can see exactly whats coming out of the exhaust!

Any help?

cheers

whip the intercooler pipe off coming from the turbo and see if there is any oil in there, a little bit is normal but if its soaking in there its your turbo :)

Ok I see, so we're thinking that it could possibly be the turbo? I noticed that there were white deposits in the turbo and wasn't quite sure what it was and quite a large crack in the wastegate which is pretty normal for a ct9.
