Zeldoz
Planning on converting buying all the essentials now.. I'm going to be using a Glanza loom! So anyone can help as to where to start? I would greatly appreciate! As I have literally no idea?!Lewis
Taggy
Well the loom is split into 3 main sections, the engine bay section, the rear of the dash and then the rear of the car which does the fuel pump rear electrics etc. You can pull the loom apart into these 3 main bits so you can get work with it easier. As a rough guess I assume you need to remove the current loom in the car and replace it with the glanza loom. You may even be lucky and the other two parts of the loom may be the same plugs so you will only need to change out the engine part of the loom.Anyone else know? Zeldoz
Ok that's simpler than I imagined!I think I'll have to swap the lot to be be honest,. As my clocks don't have RPM ect...The rear is stripped so the only things for that will be fuelling and rear lighting! And engine, I'm hoping its a simple conversion once I have everything! Taggy
i did a conversion in my ep70, a 1985 starlet with a GT loom, so its pritty much the same thing your doing. The loom looks a complete nightmare when you first look at as its so bloody confusing, but once you know which sections do what and where it fits, then it gets easier. As yours is a bare shell it should be pritty simple to lay it out.Although wouldnt it be easier to just buy a glanza, i would have thought the conversion would be an expensive and difficult one to do! Zeldoz
Expensive? Questionable! But I love my N/A... The shell is solid! And it's a full Glanza replica, plus weirdly enough declaring is cheaper than insuring a normal one! Plus I think id get more out of it and learn so so much about the car and engine which is what I would love!L
Zeldoz
All the engine controls are on the engine bay loom, the 2 or 3 plugs and attached wires (depending on what model engine and ecu you are using) that plug into the ecu are what needs to be stripped off your existing loom and replaced with the same wires from the new engine and ecu loom.15 minutes work ;)So simply, I need to cut 3 plugs from my N/A loom and splice them onto 3 cut off plugs from the Glanza loom? And I'll be using a completely standard setup at first, so the standard ecu.Out of curiosity what plugs and why would they be needed on the Glanza loom? Lewis
glanzagee
guys just out of intrest will this work glanza car and looms but with 4efe engine and ecu
Zeldoz
No, you need to remove all the wires and the plugs at the end of them that run out to the engine from the ECU plugs from each loom, then splice the turbo loom back into the n/a loom. But I will have the full Glanza engine, and got the full Glanza loom? Surely I wouldn't need to cut all the plugs into it?.. Mostly plug & play surely?
