Basically, ladies and gentlefish. My car decided it didnt want its bottom pulley anymore, so it kicked the head off the bolt and jumped off leaving the alternator and power steering without any drive. (Totally ruined my japfest journey)

I've taken my cambelt cover off to find that some strange looking metal ring has had the shit kicked out of it and the woodruff key appears to have worn away quite abit (any pictures would be helpful of how much woodruff key there should be would be amazing.) Even with the belt cover off the old pulley wont even slot over the end of the woodruff key

Im getting the feeling the engine will be coming out and the bottom end coming off...

that sucks dude, but woodruff keys are removable i think, cant u just replace that? then get a nice new shiney set of ally pulleys? ;)

oh the key should stick up about 4mm or so i think. about the height of the notch on the pulley.

Thanks morgey. Good news, i managed to get the remainder of the old bolt out. now i must ask, does the cambelt pully just slide off so that i can change the woodruff key?

erm i think u will need to take the cambelt crank pulley off aswel, which obviously means the cambelt needs to be slackened, so auxbelt off (which it obviously is lol)engine to tdc. then removing all the covers loosen the cambelt tensioner and then that one should slide (tap and leaver) off then the key should be removable from that point. then work backwards from there on reassembly :)

i am only going from memory and what my 4age is like so if the 4efe is different i do appolagise.
