jimmymac101
im posting this on behalf of Twentybingotom as his internet is down at the moment.when he gets some speed up theres a loud wineing noise coming from the drivers side and it sounds like the bearings have gone but its a 99 sr with 40,000 on the clocks we have checked to see if anything is rubbing or loose and its not. so we beleave its that!does anyone know how to sort this out, or how easy/hard it is to fix ? whats needed to do it? or is it a garage job?cheers james
Idrees
Jack the car up and try to gently wobble the wheel side to side, if it has play in then the wheel bearing is most likely due a change. We have new bearings in stock if you need one.Have you checked that the dust shield behind the brake disc isn't rubbing the disc at all?CheersIdreesID-Workz
jimmymac101
Yeah there's nothing at all rubbing are the bearings expensive ? Hard to fit ? James
Idrees
They need to be pressed in by a garage. Remove the hub yourself then take it to a garage to get the bearing fitted then refit the hub yourself. That will save you a fair bit in labour costs. We have them for around £40 delivered or a little less, you'd have to check our website for the exact price.
