Flynn
Please move this if it doesn't belong here..... Ok so, after a very long story involving a claim made against me that went unoticed by my insurer but picked up on my startlets policy has left me (31 years old) with only a years no claims and pretty pissed off!But the point of my question is.......my SR build involves: Bigger brakesCorolla inlet maniHoleshot exhaust manicustom exhaustExedy clutch Obviously this is going to effect my insurance but how do they calculate by how much, added bhp etc? & would i be better off getting insurance through one of the brokers on this site? Does anyone have any experience of moding an n/a and can they PLEASE help me out? Cheers all
Billy SR
i just wouldn't bother declaring the mani and clutch. maybe the brakes and exhaust
Flynn
Was sort of thinking along those lines, just added coilovers to the list too......are people declaring handling mods?Coming from a supermoto back ground my licence and insurance policies have taken a hammering over the years and I just don't wanna risk making my situation any worse! AdamB
Normally goes by the market price of the products against their added bhp value. But for those I wouldn't really see much of an increase in premium, brakes might bump it up a smidge.
rmsnoel
I would only consider declaring exhaust and coilovers. I consider the rest to be oem variations, ie the abs models had bigger discs than the non abs so what odds. They will have us declaring non oem tyres next...FYI I valued my wee auto at over £2000 and may insurance reduced by £100 for the year compared to when I was previously valued at £1200
