Licari3
Im a total beginner on cars im only 15 and i was hoping that someone could help me out. I was just wondering why people equip their turbo cars with a wastegate when the turbo already has one ? Any help would be appreciated thanks

Liam_D
Externals hold boost a lot better.
steve-gers
As above plus external has nicer smoother boost control
AdamB
Depends on the size of the wastegate penny and the boost pressure you plan to run. Nothing wrong with internal gates at all, but when you start increasing the boost pressure it can't cope.
