What's best for cleaning intake?

I'm wanting to flush my intake manifold through after sanding/nitromores to clean out any paint flecks and shite that may have got in there but what's best to use......solvents, fuel? I'm guessing not water?

Soak it in diesel overnight then blow it out with an airline and let it dry properly.

Will diesel not leave any residue of its own?

A quick blast of carb cleaner will sort that out. We use heating oil to wash out intercoolers and pipework after turbo failure
