Cooling thermostat

First off all what is the thermostats job ? And does a cooling thermostat exist, if so does it help performance in a glanza ?

The thermostats job is to keep closed until the coolant in the system is upto temperature, then the thermostat will open and allow coolant to pass through to be cooled by the radiator.

You can get low temp thermostats which will open at a lower temperature, you will see a gain in power but nothing you will notice or feel, so I wouldn't worry about it.
