Idrees Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Shall I just tell him that its the springs I need to change to softer ones???Well I guess thats what I'd do :P Quote
montanajr Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Surely the lower it is, the more compressed the springs, so the stiffer the ride will be? So I reckon he's right - not 100% though! Quote
Guest Enzo Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 if you want to pull the wool over his eyes you could say that he would need to invest in new springs as the current spring rates are too high,he might not buy that though . . Quote
Jozinobi Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Its called 'pre-loading the springs' Lewis, so the lower you adjust the cogs, the less rebound/room there is for the springs to make, making for an even harder and harsher ride, perfect for track use tho. My front coilys are maxed (tanabes dont go all the way down), and my rear are down to the arches with still a lil' room for adjustment. Also enzo mentioned to me once that there is a stage of lowering where you won't get any more gains, so after that it will be pure cosmetics not aesthetics.Hope this helps.Joz Quote
Guest daveburwash Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 D2's are height adjustable without preloading the springs Quote
Jozinobi Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 That must mean your first gen d2s are harsh Lew, must be a harder spring rate, you can specify what rates you want when ordering new ones.Joz Quote
Sparky Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 So I would need softer springs.......Good to hear Minus another inch on the back it is then Quote
