M.B-glanza
Hello guys. Just a quicky.. And go easy on me im a noob to turbos so what what be obvious to some is really not to me lol.. anyways My cars only been making 0.6-0.7 bar of boost tops, and im almost certain it was at 0.8 before. im just wondering what the cause could be other than an obvious boost leak? In 3rd and 4th gear i even see the gauge drop to 0.5 when i have my foot to the floor.. It feels really laggy too.Only thing I've recently done is change the pads. I mean dont get me wrong other than this car runs great.Any info is appreciated. Mark,
StuDoc 72
What kind of set up do u have? What actuator and intercooler do you have fitted? Edited June 12, 2013 by StuDoc
Fizturbo
Dependin on set up it sounds like a weak actuator or if usin a boost controller then a faulty solonoid, also check the intercooler and boost pipes for leaks
Fizturbo
Ah you said pads, caliper aint stickin is it?
M.B-glanza
The intercooler thats fitted is hdi front mounted and as for the actuator as far as im aware its standard. Im not using a boost controller aswel fellas. Mark,
M.B-glanza
We did have an issue with a tight bolt that was eventually rounded off at the top of the calliper the inside pads were both down to the metal and the outsides were like new? Im aware ill be having to get new bolts but didnt think this would affect the boost :/ maybe this is the issue?

Liam_D
Brakes wouldn't cause any issue with the turbo mate Sounds like boost is dropping off, potentially a weak actuator or boost leak? Could even have slight thrust play in the turbocharger causing it to leak on boost. Is there any smoke at all?
Fizturbo
Ah we knw that cause i already suggested the actuater in 1st post,i said brakes cause he said thats all he had done on car, brakes stuck wouldnt help at all.
M.B-glanza
Broony (from here) is going to check it over for me wich is great of him to do so. Hopefully i can get to te bottom of it and buy what i need.. I hope its not the turbo.. All the replies are very helpful fellas. I do realise that breaks wont cause any turbo issues but like I've said its the only thing I've done diffrently in the past week so it was worth a mention. Mark.
