stup86
Hello,Am I right in thinking that all you need to change from a 4EFTE to a 5EFTE is the 5EFE crank and block? And then match them to the 4EFTE??Anything else I'd need?CheersStu

I thought the only difference was the crank and block.Do you know the difference in length is between the 4efte and 5efe rods?Cheers again
riko666
i had a lot of parts needed for the conversion, but they've been sold now, your loss and no, you'll need a LOT more than the crank and block...:- 4efte Pistons- 5efhe connecting rods (Preferrably)- 4efte injectors & fuel rail- 4efte ct9 turbo- 4efte manifold- 4efte thermostat housing and water piping- 4efte Oil sump/oil pickup/oil lines- 4efte downpipe (can be modified to exhaust) / custom exhaust- 4efte Boost hosing- 4efte Intake hosing- 4efte Oil Filter Relocator Assembly- Intercooler of sorts (4efte TMIC...but need a scoop in the bonnet, preferrably)- Piggyback ECU/Standalone EMS (Preferrably)- Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator (Preferrably)And i've probably missed a few things

So I'll need FPR, management and Rods.Anybody know the difference in length bewteen 4efte rods and the 5efhe rods?Cheers
riko666
woops, my bad - thought you wanted to convert a 5efe to 5efte...i should read next timein that case you need:- 5e block- 5e crank- 5efhe conrods (would be nice as they're thicker)- 4e pistons- 5e clutchGo on eGay, there's a couple of Toyota Sera's being broken, try get one of the engines
Guest Enzo
i dont know the difference sorry
riko666
regardless you need 5efhe rods, you can't stick 4efte rods on the 5efhe crank, it'll mess up the stroke
stup86
Sorry to dig this back up, but does anyone know the difference between the 5e clutch and the 4e clutch?
riko666
different flywheel pattern, and the clutch on the 5e is smallerif you want, check out my thread about a couple of 5efhe's i'll be breaking (hopefully), I have cranks, block, clutches, flywheels etc available
stup86
Oh right, I've seen the thread with the 5efhe stuff.I won't be able to get anything til next year. I plan to do a 5efte just getting a list up together of required parts.CheersPS Does 5e stuff come up often?
riko666
5EFE's come on occasionally, but you should only take the Crankshaft & Rods from that....5EFHE's are rare, and the Camshafts, Connecting Rods, Pistons (if going N/A) are very much sought after
