EPnick22 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 okay so sorry for blocking up the threads with all my questions, but looking at where the head bolts are, it looks like i can just unbolt the head and lift the whole thing out with the cams still in? Quote
EPnick22 Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 ah okay, why cant it be taken out in one then? out of curiosity Quote
AdamB Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 The headbolts are under the cams mate. You'll need an M9 spline tool as well. be careful as they do round off very easily! If you do round 1 off get a M10 spline tool and knock/hammer that in the bolt head. Quote
triple j Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 dont forget to lock the cam with a little bolt before u take them out. Quote
AdamB Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 (edited) Must have been seriously rounded off or you managed to squeeze it in there lol, its deffo an M9. Standard bolts anyway. Edited July 9, 2013 by AdamB Quote
Chris Green Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Hmm this is a strange one, it was an M12 bought for the sole purpose of head bolts. They where Toyota OEM ones. Quote
AdamB Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Thats strange. You can use a Hex key, 8mm I believe so bit strange as to why yours where like 2-3 sizes larger. Quote
