liss Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Hi guys, I have quite bad lacquer peel on the passenger side rear quarter of my silver EP91. I was just wondering how much people have been charged in the past for a re-spray of this panel? Unfortunately, the lacquer peel is also on the passenger door but I don't know whether to just replace the door or have this resprayed too. I'm just a little worried that replacing the door will mean loads of electrical sorting due to the electric windows and mirrors. What's your opinions? Thank you Quote
funny onion Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Anything electrical on the door just unplugs in the footwell. So if you get the electrics with the new door it's just a case of plugging it in. I'd get it sprayed personally. The new door you get might not match the rest of your car anyway. Quote
5T4R7ET N/A Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 i think if you take it to somewhere decent then they will be able to re-lacquer it for you. they sand the area with fine sand paper that will only remove the laquer and not the paint, then they will re-lacquer it. Quote
liss Posted August 5, 2013 Author Posted August 5, 2013 Ah okay, thanks! Out of interest, have either of you had a respray of that panel and if so, how much did it cost? Quote
webby Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I got quoted £150 for my rear quarter on my glanza re-spraying that included sanding and prepping it paint lacquer etc and the full car mopping so it all blends in Quote
liss Posted August 6, 2013 Author Posted August 6, 2013 That's brilliant, thank you guys! Gonna go and see a guy at the weekend and hopefully get it sorted Quote
