andy91145
I've read a few times one her that aftermarket rev limiters are bad for these engines but I've never found bout why, would quite like the theory and is it bad for all engines or just these. I get how they work by cutting the spark and still fuels. Surely that just gets pushed through the engine into the hot exhaust?
Socks
The standard limiters cut the spark... Meaning nothing can ignite when on the limiter.. I believe.. Aftermarket ones don't do this. You get huge bangs, backfires and explosions... Which on these engines is prone to crack pistons, snap conrods. etc Its VERY hard on engine and should only be used with forged engines really. But excessive use wont be good for those either!
triple j
Timing should be retarded with a set limiter, and the likes of a bee rev can't do that for u.
andy91145
Right I understand now thank you very much staying very much away from them don't fancy an engine rebuild anytime soon
