Front number plate size?

Want to get a smaller size plate made up for the front, any recommendations as to the size? is there a common size?

I think the 12"x6" look sweet with a black border but some think that's a bit small

£7.50 per plate here, you can have a border just ask him in the sale notes, the manufacturer stamp and BS numbers are nice and small too so you can't really see them without looking close
