Sherb87
Hello All, How do you guys replace the box oil? From what I can see there is a drain hole on the bottom corner, a level hole on the side, and a filler hole on the top... Now, do you actually bother with the filler hole? As from what I gather you fill up the box until the oil starts to come out the level hole... That makes me just think to put it straight in the level hole? Then when it starts to pour back out, stop. I assume access will be the problem... (I guess I will find out soon enough). *Insert any useful tips and tools sizes here if you know any* I am going to give it a crack regardless, but other info before hand is always useful! Cheers! Idrees
Fill it from the filler hole til it leaks from the level hole. Make sure the car is parked on an even surface
Sherb87
Cool, cheers. Luckily I shall be using a ramp, so I will be able to keep it level at the same time as being able to get under it. I best find a long funnel to reach then!
mech5107
I use a funnel with a clear hose attached. So I just put the end in the fill hole and fill it
Kier
Yeah, find a proper funnel as suggested. My engine bay currently stinks of gearbox juice due to a "slight" spillage! Filler hole is 17mm iirc? And I think the drain plug is 24?
Sherb87
Job done! Managed to squeeze a funnel in... But still spilt a little bit of the oil, ah well! The car is 20 years old and modified so it doesn't smell particularly good anyway! :-) Yep: 17mm Filler 24mm Level 24mm Drain
