Right my plan for a straight throo! I want to cut out my cat and get a bit of exhaust pipe and clamp it in place of the cat. Then when mot day comes simple change over? Would this work and has anyone done this

Hey fella, I used to work in an exhaust centre! The best way I've seen is to cut the cat out and have flanges welded in place as when you use a sleeve/clamp set up, the top part of the clamp can cause a u bend across the width of the pipe and sleeve which is then a bastard seperate. Where if you flange it it's four nuts/bolts and two very cheap gaskets and you're done!

I'm sure some people will disagree with me but it's the best way I've seen/done :)

Sounds like a plan I never thought about that I'll speak to a few people where I stay and see if the could do that for me. Need a new car anyway so will need to cut it out sooner or later. Cheers though mate much appreciated
