Glanzacoley Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Hi guys I'm getting this gt turbo on Saturday now I've been told that the engine needs to be re shimmed because of the reconditioned head the shims were placed in wrong place but a friend of mine seems to think turbo is on the way out. glanzatd04l220 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 it sounds like the turbo is on its way out, if the seals in the turbo are going she'll smoke on over run. you can take the down pipe and intake pipe off and see if there's any oil leaking through the seals. kevin Quote
rinseep82 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Who put the head back on sounds like the cam belt is waaaay to tight or could even be an alternator bearing noise or a timing belt tensioner I don't think it's the turbo or the head go look at it get a long screwdriver put it to your ear and poke around untill you hear the noise clearly Quote
