string Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 some people are sayin 16s with 40 drop will not rub?others are sayin they will.i wanna know if theres much difference between 15s and 16s look wise an also performance wise.many thanks string Quote
Idrees Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I'd just go for 15s mate, peace of mind and they'll definitely look good enough. Quote
Marc Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Go with 15's. 16's are a bit too big in my opinion and may lower the handling capabilities. 15's are optimum i'm sure many of the guys and girls in the club will agree. Faster acceleration, cheaper tyres etc.Go for 15's you know ya wanna! Quote
keirz Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 the off set of the alloys is one of the most important things, has no one thought about that??? Quote
B19YUL Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 aye 16's in my eyes slightly too big looking for the car. i went for 15's with wide tyres awesome grip likes! and no rubbing, but if u are wanting 16's i am sure they will grip ememse aswell and if it does rub then just get the arche's rolled cost's about £10 per arch. had it done on my old corsa works a treat!....i have the 15's on with a 65mm drop no rubbing lol......and it's slammed... paul w Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I've had 14" 15" And 16"s on my GT when i had it. As long as the offset is ET35-38 they should be fine. The only time my 16"s rubbed was giving it some stick in the twisties it would catch ever so slightlyon the plastic inner arch. Performance wise theres very little difference unless you have stupidly heavy 16"s or very light 15"s. Mine was feckin low too! Quote
Sparky Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Its all to do with the correct offset Just get 15s to save arguments Quote
Idrees Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 ET38 offset on 15s should never rub mate. Quote
Tommy_G Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 well the only time mine have rubbed (15s, with 50 tyres and -40 drop) was wen i had a car load and was bouncin along the motoway. not serious, as this even happend wen it wasnt lowered.i say 15s mate. Quote
