trimmata Posted December 12, 2014 Share Posted December 12, 2014 (edited) Item For Sale: 5E-FE Vitara pistons Setup as shown in my own topic Teds starlet => http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/79858-teds-starlet-ver-no4/ This is the last complete set that remained from the previous year JDMteam GB Whats you get? - 4x 75mm Coated Vitara pistons - 4x 19mm full floating 9310 hardened pins + clips - 4x 75mm NPR gas nitride N-51 treated rings - 4x Custom length H-beam connecting rods with 19mm small ends - 8X ARP2000 3/8" rod bolts Pros - Nice price - C/R is something more than 8:1 using 0.6mm HG (perfect for turbo 5E-FE) - Safe boost until 1.35-1.50 Bar - Less oil consumption than forged pistons because of the closer P2W clearance makes them ideal for daily use Cons - You have to overbore @75mm (If you are already @74.5mm and you need to rebuilt is OK, but if you don't?) - You need to notch you engine block like here http://youtu.be/41iu5s2Pqy0 [These connecting rods are extra-beef compared to the other 5E-FE steel rods of the market (Better safe than sorry)]* - Ubsolutely unsafe for boosting more than 1.9-2.00 Bars - Different piston design than OEM (This is also good for many reasons) * From my experience (especially on 5E-FE's) engine block notching is required also for the thinner 5E-FE steel rods. So this isn't a big deal.
