New Water Pump Leaking

Hi lads,

Just had a call from my mate whos been working on my Gt - full service and some other bits.

He said the car starts, everything seems fine apart from the water pump leaking shit loads of coolant everywhere.

Has anyone got any ideas why this may be? He said he tightened up everything beforehand on the pump etc, furthermore its a brand new pump which i bought from idworkz to replace the orginal one?

O ring seal on the back of the water pump. If that hasn't been replaced then chances are it will be that. Also use something like Vaseline or grease to help the o ring slide into the housing otherwise it will grab and not seal correctly.
