Unbolt the top tensioner bolt neer dipstick. 10mm bolt connecting charge cable too come off. Unplug 4 pin round plug of back of alternator. Take belt off then get under car and Unbolt 14mm? Bolt holding alternator on and drop out past the driveshaft

I have a new belt to put on as well but I have to take the drive belt off to don't I or should the old belt do for now? It's just the top bolt on the alternator is a bastard to get to

Take you idle control valve of the drivers side of the inlet manifold. Its only 2 10mm bolts and a plug and it helps free up a load of space. And yes change the drive belt lazy sod

Might give it a proper go tomorrow after giving the car a good wash and thanks for the tip of removing the Idle control valve as that looks like it will make it a lot easier
