Flynn Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 I've got a second gearbox to fit at some point soon and I'm just wanting to blow it over in silver but not sure what paint I'm after and if I need primer etc? Quote
jamesglanza Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Acid etch primer then a good stone resistant top coat, somthing like a 2pack paint as it's tuff. Personally I would just clean it up and bung a coat of silver paint on it as you will be heart broken the first time you take it down the road after spending lots of time and money on it and it's Chipped to fuck lol Quote
jamesglanza Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Anyway don't piss about with paint, get an lsd slapped in there. You will feel the benefit round the first corner. Anyway don't piss about with paint, get an lsd slapped in there. You will feel the benefit round the first corner. Quote
Flynn Posted August 16, 2015 Author Posted August 16, 2015 £500 odd notes aren't they though? Got an ECU to buy!! Lol Quote
jamesglanza Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 While your tarting up the gbox would be rude not to treat it to a nice diff lolI'm sure someone on here has an lsd diff cheap. It's out the car so just keep an eye out and build it up when you have the money. You don't need to use it now do you lol Quote
jamesglanza Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 Go to island paint supplys near accident paint shop near bargmans rest, or there's a paint shop over the road from the main post-office depo down the industrial estate. Will be cheaper and he will get you the best possible paint for your budget Quote

jamesglanza Posted August 16, 2015 Posted August 16, 2015 It's worth etch primer if you've gone to that much trouble mate, help the paint stick and last longer. Quote
