Coxxy_94GT
Would the above cause the fan to constantly run , heating to be poor and a high idle ? The idle is at like 2k and then drops slowly to 1k but then as soon as you move and stop again its bacl up to 2k . Also takes a litle while to drop
Calum122
Wouldn't have thought so mate. Unless it doesn't open. The thermostat opens to cool the engine. A low temp one opens earlier and thus takes longer for an engine to warm up. This would potentially mean high idling, but not the fan. If the ac has been removed, but the connection not bridged then this will cause the fan to come on.
Coxxy_94GT
Ahhh thanks for the reply mate , i thought that about the idle but even if I've been driving a good while and its up to temp it still idles high
Calum122
Idle control valve could be shot. Could try taking it apart and cleaning it. Or for a test you can just remove it. It will run rough for a minute or so and you will have to manually open the throttle and adjust fuel. But once a minute has passed it should idle perfectly. If it doesn't then you know it is not that.
