turbo-fever
Right long story short was told I have a 5efte when the sump was off has forged rods and pistons but out of coincidence I was looking at engine bay yesterday. The tag next to the exhaust mani that says either 4e or 5e has been scratched off so how else would I tell ?
funny onion
5E block is 20mm taller hence the longer stroke. Measure from the crank bolt on the bottom pulley to the deck of the block. I think it's 94mm stroke on a 5E so a 4E would measure 74mm and a 5E would measure 94mm. I may be wrong on the figures but 5E is definitely longer block.
turbo-fever
Excellent will give that a shot thanks
AdamB
5E has an 87mm stroke, 4E has 77.4mm stroke. Has above though, measure the deck height from the centre of the crankshaft pulley bolt, to the block deck, off the top of my head I think it's 212mm or 215mm.
Bean
i had to space the power steering pump out about 15mm i think on my 5e so look at where the ps pump is mounted for spacers added.
turbo-fever
Yes the measurement is over 210mm on the block and that explains the spacer I have on the ps pump ! Thanks people
