O2 sensor wire

After suffering a number of setbacks I've finnaly got my WEPR manifold and downpipe fitted but the location of the bung means the O2 sensor wire is too short.

Does anyone know if it can be extended using standard wire or does it require a special type?

standard automotive wire of same thickness will do just fine
