  1. thanks
  2. if you test it she will proberly show fault code 42 like mine did as my cable was not connected (that's my speedo cable by the way) check my link here http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/66490-ecu-diagnostic-codes/ basically ecu code 42 Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) No speed sensor signal to ECU when loaded driving condition with engine speeds 2000 to 5000 rpm. in 5th gear driving For 8 seconds or more. check it out pal see if the link helps
  3. I had the same thing mate grab a HKS adjustable actuator and set it at around 0.8 it will take a couple or trys to keep of fuel cut depending how your set up that's solved my problem do also check all boost pipes and clamps doubt sticky breaks would cause aboost problem though just a thought
  4. how do we get the mods to make it sticky like I say I was looking around for hours to find something that was user friendly as most I found was very confusing this did the job in minutes
  5. After my Engine Management light came on I did hours of browsing and research and found thisI thought it may be of use for some 1 else as I couldn't find this on UKSO siteHope it helps ECU Diagnostic Codes for many Toyota ECUs Some codes may not exist in earlier or non-applicable engine ECU’s but all codes are common among many Toyota ECUs. It is essential that you do have the proper manuals and skills necessary to perform diagnostic and repairs. This list is to assist those who are qualified in obtaining some information out of the ECU on cars equipped with factory units. Diagnosis System: To obtain ECU codes, proceed as follows: Initial conditions must be met for codes to appear in normal output. • Battery Voltage must be 11V or more • Throttle valves must be fully closed (on newer engines) • Accessories switched off • Engine at operating temperature 1. Turn the ignition switch ON. (Do not start engine) 2. Short terminals TE1 and E1 of the check connector of the diagnosis connector cluster. Diagnostic Codes: Normal Operation: (no malfunction) The light will alternatively blink ON and OFF at 0.26 second intervals. Malfunction Codes Indication In the event of a registered malfunction, the light will blink every 0.52 second. The first series of blinks will equal the 1st digit of a 2 digit code and after a 1.5 second pause; the second series of blinks will indicate the 2nd digit. If there are 2 or more codes, there will be a 2.5 seconds pause between each signalled code. After all codes have flashed, there will be a 4.5 second interval and the codes will repeat until TE1 and E1 has been disconnected. 2-Trip detection logic: Diagnostic Codes 20-29 are usually indicated with 2 -trip logic. This means that the ECU will need two repeated engine operational cycles, with the same problem for the code to be indicated, minimizing the false codes. The ignition must be switched OFF between the 2 successive engine operations. Test Mode: (1989 and later ECU, with variation in models) In this mode, the ECU will have increased sensing ability for malfunction detection. It can also detect starter signal circuit, and air conditioning components. The same codes also will be detected as those of the normal modes. In the same manner and conditions as the normal diagnostic: 1. Short the TE2 and E1 of the diagnostic connector. 2. Turn ignition ON to begin diagnosis in TEST mode. 3. To check that the TEST mode is operational, confirm that the warning light flashes with ignition in ON position. 4. Start the engine and drive the vehicle at or faster than 10km/h (6mph). If the speed fails to reach this the ECU will falsely report that the starter and speed sensor is malfunctioning. (Code 41 and 42) 5. After test drive, short connectors TE1 and E1 6. Read diagnostic codes. Be sure to Remove SST from check connector when finished. *Warning:* Test mode will not start if terminals are shorted after ignition is turned ON. Code 51 (AC compressor switch signal) is erratic by nature and will sometimes come on without malfunction. 6. DRONGO BOI top lad starting your pics with my car lol any 1 else get any pics of my GLANZA my fone was flat so I never got any pics Cant belive you spotted it on the sea front lol
  7. thanks for the invite CHAND alright little turn out today nice to see other GT's and GLANZA's im the only 1 in my town so made a change to see more also nice to have a chat with some of you I would of hung around a little longer but my little man wanted to be on the beach and spending in the arcades typical lol however did have a drive bk up that way before we came home didn't see any of you lot so headed home have to do it again sometime and il stay longer next time any 1 uploading any pics I never got any phone was flat
  8. im hoping to come trying to get the V sorted in time just put hks actuator on today boost feels strong and puts a smile on my face lol but still no log book so cant get taxed had to send it to dvla to rectify the faults printed on it they said 3-5 days on Tuesday so hopefully it be back in time what time is the meet chand
  9. ive tried it with solenoid in pace and without still no difference not sure where its fitted I didn't do that it were already done have you got or do you know any 1 with a good adjustable actuator for sale also after some front shocks mine has some blue 1's with something sr on them but 1 leaks so need a pair?
  10. have you got any shocks and springs or just shocks can use my own springs thanks
  11. standard actuator no boost controller I meant to say the in dash temp sits at half that's fine but my depo gauges read as high as 92 which aint far off boiling mate could this be a crap connection or wire? also which would be true thanks
  12. thanks dan mate
  13. have you still got these any pics please and your location my front just started leeking
  14. hi I will try and get down to it I have got a new engine in I bought it from Got.boost ( I think that's his name he from Essex very helpful chap indeed ) but got a few little issues hope to have fixed soon though. ive only got 0.4 bar of boost through the gears only really gave it a little bit in 1st 2nd and 3rd and maybe need it setting up on the rollers its just cash at the min and stock ecu so not drove more than 20mile since fitting new engine also my temp gauge on the dash the original never moves above halfway but my depo gauge can go as high as 92 so very unsure and not driving as I cant afford another new engine just yet any help tips and advice any body please ??
  15. hi how much for the engine thanks
  16. hi do you have a contact number me looking for a new engine for mine thanks

  18. hi all im new and found your site after buying my 1st Glanza 1998 r reg (gumtree) I bought her around 3-4 weeks ago after wanting 1 since bein 18 finally got round to owning 1 after buying lots of other cars and not bein happy, however still not happy only drove it 30 miles and it sounds like a tappet or something has gone!! so after reading on here I found the crack on the cylinder head at the fourth pot gutted car bein sat up ever since so... the question is do I replace the head for another have it skimmed and pressure tested new gasket and fit it??? will this stop my tapping like sound?? or will it have caused more damage elsewere?? will it be alright on the original bottom end or is it just best to swap the full engine for another?? Im proper gutted as it was quite quick before this happened and I enjoyed driving it for that 1 day any advice and parts ie head or engine would be great thanks
  19. Im in Scunthorpe Pal only down the road lol
  20. how I upload a pic be interesting to see if anyone nos my car thanks for the welcome mate
