i dont have a quick shift i mean when i change gear quickly it just wont take 3rd most of the time ? i have a 6speed box from a g6 mate . do you know what the problem could be ?

my glanza failed mot on handbrake . i have replaced the rear discs pads and handbrake cables . i have the handbrake adjusted full and it still wont hold on a small hill with it pulled up as far as it will go
